About the Artist

When did you start writing, producing, playing music and what or who were your early passions and influences? What was it about music and/or sound that drew you to it?

I started hearing songs and melodies in my head as a child and felt a deep desire to manifest them into reality. Eventually, as a teenager, I taught myself guitar and was able to begin to write real songs. I felt a deep connection to the guitar and the sounds of the vibrating strings interweaving with my voice. My early influences as a child were 90’s female-led singer-songwriters like Jewel, and then as a young adult, I was introduced to alternative rock bands like Radiohead and the Pixies, which moved me on an emotional, deep level.

What would you say are the key ideas behind your approach to music and art?

Artistic expression for me feels like channelling from a deeper part of myself that is connected to the superconscious. The spark of inspiration leads to a flow state of creation that feels almost limitless. I believe that all art is valid but some can resonate more with others. Being a human just living life is art itself, and musical expression is a reflection of that and can connect people in extraordinary ways.

About the Single

Tell us about your new single Endless. Is there a story behind it? What were the influences or inspirations to write it?

My song “Endless” dives into a poetic dialogue between two opposing forces that forever chase each other, yet without each other cease to exist. It’s a play on the light and the dark, the yin and the yang, and the polarities inherent in life that sustain it. The lyrics were born out of a desire for one’s own counterpart, whether it be a relationship or completeness within oneself.

Could you describe your creative process behind the album? Where did the ideas come from, how were they transformed in your mind, what did you start with and how do you refine these beginnings into a finished song?

While playing with unique chords and a capo on the third fret of my acoustic guitar, I found these beautiful chord voicings and was instantly inspired. The lyrics just started to roll out seamlessly, and I tried my best to stay out of their way. The production of the track was inspired by The Cranberries’ “Linger,”especially the cinematic intro.

What’s your view of lyrics with “messages”? Is there a main message you want to be delivered within the song?

I would like the audience to create their own meaning out of the poetic-vagueness of the song, whether it be with an important relationship in their life or their internal life journey. I want to hit an emotional resonance within someone that can’t be explained but felt.

How did you go about choosing your recording, mixing, mastering engineer? Any advice for anyone else currently going through the process?

A great mastering engineer to work with is someone who will give you unbiased feedback on the mix before mastering. I believe this step is really important and builds trust and rapport.

What formats will be the release available on? What is the best place for people to find and support your music?

“Endless” will be available on all streaming platforms. My website, unimusicartist.com is a great leaping off point to connect with me and my music.
